HD2 FILTER

The HD2 filter protects your power tool’s engine against even the finest dust, ensuring a longer service life and reduced wear. The filter made from robust PET material and is oil and water-repellent, making it easier to clean the filter. The filter cartridge can also be easily replaced without tools.

REDUCED AIR FITLER MAINTENANCE

STIHL M-TRONIC

The fully electronic engine management system with memory function regulates the ignition timing and the fuel supply and automatically registers the external temperature, for optimal engine performance, great acceleration and sustained maximum torque. There is only one start position on the combi-lever, so you can easily start the tool with fewer pulls on the cord and without switching.

MAGNESIUM PISTON

The extremely lightweight magnesium piston gives you an excellent power-to-weight ratio, allowing you to work efficiently and at high maximum speed.

COMPENSATOR

The compensator is a control system in the carburettor, that uses pressure compensation to ensure that engine performance, exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption remain constant over a long period of time, despite increasing contamination of the air filter. You do not need to clean the air filter until there is a noticeable drop in performance, letting you work for a long time without maintenance.

CAPTIVE BAR NUTS

Bar nuts are attached to the sprocket cover held, preventing the Bar nuts from getting lost of fall off when changing the cutting attachment.

STIHL FOUR-CHANNEL TECHNOLOGY

STIHL four-channel technology enables you to operate your power tool with high performance and low fuel consumption. By guiding the fuel-and-air mixture into the cylinder through four overflow channels in a precise and compressed manner, the engine burns the fuel optimally and boosts its performance significantly.

SIDE CHAIN TENSIONING

The tensioning screw is located on the side of the chainsaw through the sprocket cover. Chain side tensioning allows the saw chain to be re-tensioned effortlessly, avoiding any contact with the sharp chain.

CARBURETTOR HEATING

By changing the Chainsaw from summer to winter operation, the intake air is pre-heated over the engine fins. This ensures that the carburettor does not ice up and you can continue working in freezing temperatures.

TOOL-FREE FUEL AND OIL CAPS

Special caps on the fuel and oil tanks are designed for easy opening and locking without the need for tools.

STIHL EMATIC SYSTEM

A reservoir holds bar oil until it is picked up by the passing chain. This achieves maximum lubrication resulting in longer wear and less oil consumption.

STIHL ELASTOSTART

STIHL ElastoStart reduces the resistance caused by the compression of the engine when pulling the starter cord, through a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.
