STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Premieres at the Rural Games

STIHL WERE PROUD TO TAKE THE STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS TO THE RURAL GAMES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2021. THE RURAL GAMES IN THE PALMERSTON NORTH SQUARE HOSTED A RECORD BREAKING CROWD THIS YEAR, WITH OVER 42,000 PEOPLE THROUGH THE SQUARE OVER THE THREE DAY EVENT.

Stace Hall, STIHL Marketing Manager comments on the Games;

“Given it was the first time we’ve held the New Zealand STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Championship outside of Fieldays, being part of the Rural Games was a great success. We had good crowd numbers throughout the events with locals turning out to support the ‘sports that built the nation’. Media coverage has been solid so far on TV3 with more to come on Country Calendar and Jono and Ben. Congratulations to all our competitors and to the winners of the Ladies, Rookies and Open Championships.”

Steve Hollander, Founder of The Rural Games was extremely happy to bring STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® to the Games, he comments below;

“It was fantastic to welcome the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® National Championships to Palmerston North – women, men and rookies competed over two days for the prime spot of representing New Zealand at the International Championships. It was an impressive and noisy two days and awesome to have greater numbers of TIMBERSPORTS® competitors at the Games. The public got to see a high level of professionalism in this sporting code.”

Congratulations to Kylea Heaton, Brad Pako and Jack Jordan winners of the Women’s, Rookies and Men’s Championships respectively. Thank you to all those who came and competed we look forward to a bigger and better competition in 2022!
