Tools from the STIHL AP system can be operated with both ALLPRO batteries and AP batteries. The AK system and ALLPRO system are not compatible with each other. An AK battery only fits in an AK power tool and an ALLPRO battery fits in all power tools from the previous AP system as well as in third-party power tools approved by STIHL.
Yes, service and support will remain in full effect. Your STIHL dealer will take care of your AP batteries, chargers and power tools as usual.
While the AK system is primarily for domestic use, the previous AP system offers maximum endurance for professional everyday use and demanding tasks around domestic gardens. The ALLPRO battery system is the upgrade for even more performance: The ALLPRO batteries with tabless battery technology deliver up to 60% 1 more peak power, 40% 2 faster charging times and up to 150% 3 longer service life with full compatibility with all power tools from the AP system.

Yes, all batteries in the AP and ALLPRO battery systems meet at least the IPX4 standard. The ALLPRO batteries in the Performance series with tabless cells are even IPX5 certified. In combination with appropriately certified equipment, you can continue working without interruption even in rain and adverse weather conditions.
