STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Worldwide

The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series is a series of international events logging competition, which have their roots in 4 countries: Canada, Australia, The United States, and right here in New Zealand.

Logging competitions have always been around to identify and award the best local loggers. With the ongoing presence that STIHL® has had in forestry industries throughout the world, over time, these "tests of strength and skill" developed into a professional level sport competitions through STIHL®.

The first STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® competition, the "Champions Cup", was held at the STIHL headquarters in Waiblingen, Germany - on 11 October. More than 3,500 visitors attended the initial spectacular timber-felling competition. Since this first competition the event has gone from strength to strength.

New Zealand has a strong reputation at STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS®, having a Kiwi win 'Series Champion', the highest honour, every year since 1997, more than any other country!
