MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively.

CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.
CONSTANT POWER
EASY ADJUSTMENT OF POWER TOOL PERFORMANCE. Quickly and conveniently adjust the speed of your power tool to the respective work situation. Doing so reduces energy consumption at low speeds, and in this way extends the battery runtime. The practical control handle with speed control allows you to make the relevant adjustment without having to change your grip or pause work.

OPTIMAL ENGINE COOLING. The air filter with fine metal mesh cleans the air and in this way ensures optimum engine cooling. As it is itself easy to clean, it also offers a long service life.

FOR GOOD PLANNABILITY. At the push of a button, the LED charge-level indicator will inform you at any time about your battery’s remaining capacity. This allows you to efficiently plan working hours and charge the battery in good time.

SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.

FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your power tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your power tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.

The powerful STIHL FSA 400 battery clearing saw from the AP System is designed for professional use in landscaping, council operations, and forestry. Whether you're maintaining greenery in noise-sensitive areas, mowing tall grass, clearing wild growth and scrub, or cutting small trees in nurseries, the FSA 400 delivers speed and comfort.

With a cutting diameter of up to 520 mm and a high-performance EC motor, it ensures efficient operation. The ergonomic bike handle is specially shaped for mowing tasks and can be adjusted tool-free via the folding clamp. Features like the 10-point hole strip for attachment, STIHL’s anti-vibration system, and a 3-speed control handle with LED energy-saving indicator support low-fatigue, energy-efficient work.

Built for durability, the FSA 400 includes a robust housing, steel drive shaft, reinforced aluminium protective tube, and a gearbox with grease filler screw. A metal-grille air filter ensures optimal cooling and easy maintenance.

For smart fleet management, the FSA 400 is compatible with the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A.

In addition to the standard STIHL AutoCut 46-2, the FSA 400 supports a wide range of metal cutting tools, including the BrushCut 300-3 brush knife, ShredCut 270-2 shredder blade, and WoodCut chisel-tooth saw blade, along with matching guards. The PolyCut 48-2 mowing head with plastic blades is ideal for energy-efficient grass cutting.

All STIHL AP System battery tools are built for regular professional use—even in adverse weather. They are certified splashproof, with performance verified through rigorous internal testing. The FSA 400’s splash protection has also been officially certified to IPX4 standards.
